BIZ GHANA COMMEND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MINISTER AND NEIP CEO

An entrepreneurial incubation hub is commending the Minister of Business Development for his contribution in shaping the entrepreneurial eco-system.

According to BIZ GHANA, Dr Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Awal has been very proactive and diligent in his work as a minister of Business Development

"we the hubs were not even known and did not benefit from anything from the government of Ghana but the Minister with the CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme-NEIP, John Kumah have engaged us on various levels to help to develop the entrepreneurial ecosystem"

He said the hubs now feel involved and are now recognised with many entrepreneurs knowing about them and coming for their services.

The kumasi Manager for BIZ GHANA, Prince Twumasi said this at an entrepreneurial meeting in Kumasi. He mentioned a number of collaborations with the Ministry of Business Development which has helped shaped the hubs

He said the ministry through NEIP engaged them to train 7,000 applicants of the NEIP Presidential Business Support Programme last year and are looking forward to train 10,000 applicants this year.

He added the ministry has also tasked them to take part in monitoring, evaluation and recovery of funds given to 1,350 applicants.

He disclosed, the Ministry of Business Development has engaged an organisation in Spain, the Institute of Creation and Development Enterprise (INCYDE) to begin training of young Ghanaian Entrepreneurs in competitive business skills from Monday, 27th to Friday, 31st May, 2019

"The training will sharpen the skills and knowledge of Ghanaian entrepreneurs to enable their products meet global standards thereby, become competitive on the international market"

He applauded the Ministry and NEIP for the Presidential Business Support Programme, Presidential empowerment for women entrepreneurs living with disability, the Presidential Pitch, NEIP Business Advisory Services, the Greenhouse project which is the biggest in West Africa, the Student Entrepreneurship Initiative-SEI which has been extended to tertiary institutions this year,

Mr. Twumasi Could not hide his joy as he mentioned numerous project the Ministry are having with the hubs to shape the entrepreneurial eco-system.

He however appealed to the goverment to make more funds available for the Ministry and NEIP to continue with the good work.
