Fire Guts Shops And Cars At Suame Magazine

Fire has gutted over ten shops and eight vehicles at Suame Magazine in the Ashanti Region, casing damage to properties worth thousands of cedis. So far, the extent of the damage has been blamed on the late intervention by the Ghana Fire Service as a mechanic who only gave his name as Korsah revealed the harm could have been subdued should there have been a timely intervention. “Because we don’t have a fire service station at the Magazine, it was difficult reaching them. Though we finally succeeded in calling them, it took them about an hour to come here. So when they came around 1am, all the eight cars and ten shops had been destroyed,” he stated. In the meantime, the Ghana Fire Service is yet to come out with the actual cause of the outbreak as eyewitnesses claim the fire might have erupted due to an electrical fault.
