87 Assemblymen in danger as NPP youth invoke deity

The NDCs quest to obtain one million votes in the Ashanti region and the NPPs vision to sweep 90% of the votes is polarizing the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly.  The KMA has 147 members, 91 of them elected, 44 appointed and 10 ex-officio members, who are Members of Parliament (MPs). On the 6 th of October, The KMA failed to elect a Presiding Member (PM) after two rounds of voting ended in a stalemate. None of the five contestants – Nana Kofi Senya and Baffour Agyei Kesse, both former PMs, Nana Yaw Wiredu, Mr. Hamidu Gariba and Mr. Michael Adusei Bonsu, was able to secure the two-thirds majority votes required by the law. Baffour Kesse polled 56 votes with Nana Senya, receiving 46, while Mr. Bonsu Nana Wiredu and Gariba had 27, four and two votes respectively during the first round of voting. Health workers at risk

OSEIVIEWS’s investigations have revealed that several doctors and nurses in Ghana’s health facilities are abusing Pethidine, a strong painkiller that has the components of heroin and cocaine. The only Psychiatrist at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, Dr. Gordon Donnir who confirmed this in an exclusive interview with, says the drug has severe side effects on its users, some of whom have become very addicted to it. Pethidine is a strong analgesic for any form of pain. But when wrongly administered or taken in overdose, one portrays same symptoms as a cocaine or heroin addict. It is an Opioid analgesic drug used to treat pain particularly after an operation or during child birth. Pethidine is supplied in the form of a pink ampoule that can be opened, drawn up in a syringe and injected. Barcamp [1]   Bolga 2015 is a free networking forum bringing people together for a day of discussion, demos and dialogue on Bolgatanga, Ghana and beyond. Booomers International will be featured on the BBC' World TV - Africa Business report program on Friday 16:40 (4:40pm) - 18:40 (6:40 pm).    Booomers International is a subsidiary social enterprise of the Yonso Project, which produces and markets bamboo and accessories on both the Ghanaian and international markets. The company manufactures different types of bamboo bicycles and accessories such as bicycle stands and baskets. British government to support youth entrepreneurship in Ghana

The British High Commissioner has called for support for youth entrepreneurship in the country. Jon Benjamin made the call after a visit to Yonso project and Boombers Bicycles, producers of Bamboo Bicycles at Apaah in the Mampong Municipality. The British government through its program is supporting youth entrepreneurs in the country. Speaking to ultimate news after a tour of the factory, Jon Benjamin said the British government will provide financial support for entrepreneurs to expand their project.
