WORK HARD TO MAKE MOBD MOST VALUABLE MINISTRY IN GHANA-DR. IBRAHIM MOHAMMED AWAL


The Minister of Business Development has admonished staff of the ministry to be diligent in executing their mandate during Workers strategic Planning session held at Ho in the Volta Region over the weekend. 

Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal who was addressing the staff of the ministry and the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme-NEIP at a strategic Planning Session, charged them to work hard to achieve the president’s vision of human capital development, Entrepreneurship, industrialization and infrastructure driven economy.
“We must be innovative with our work and always reason outside the box, do a lot of thinking and asked more questions. Let’s make the ministry of Business Development the most valuable government entity”

“Let’s work at our mandate and our core objective of Innovation driven entrepreneurship” he said
Dr. Awal took time to explain the operations and working plan of the ministry to the staff and charged them to be active at ensuring the vision and projects of the ministry are well executed.
On behalf of NEIP, the CEO John kumah also laid bare the programmes and working plan for the year 2019

The Workers strategic Planning session was instituted by the Ministry of Business development to afford the staff opportunity to deliberate on the previous working year and also plan and strategize for the working year of 2019.

The Ministry of Business Development and its implementing  agency, National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme since their formation by the Akufo-Addos’s Government has efficaciously among others train 7000 entrepreneurs and funded 1,350 of them with amount ranging from GHS10,00 to GHS100,000  to either expand or start their own business.  
The Ministry successfully executed the presidential pitch where ten entrepreneurs who pitched their businesses before the president won a minimum cash award of GHS45, 000 forty Five Thousand Ghana Cedis.

The ministry also established Students Entrepreneurship Initiative-SEI which seeks to train senior High school students with entrepreneurship skills. The programme will be extended to Tertiary Institutions this years. 
The Ministry of business Development also established disable women in entrepreneurship programme and also set up a gender desk to support women in entrepreneurship.

The ministry among others also completed a 75 greenhouse domes at Dawenya with plans to expand to all the ten regions in Ghana. It also began youth in industrialization, with plans to set up sub-contracting industries to feed into one district one factory programme. The ministry will this year, establish a tractor assembling plant with farming equipment as part of its industrialization plan.
