By Joseph Osei

The Abusuapanin of Kumawu has applied for an interlocutory injunction to restrict Otumfour Osei Tutu II, the Asanteman council and five others from engaging in any activity that will lead to the Installation of the Chief of Kumawu in the Sekyere Afram Plains District of the Ashanti Region
Kwaku Gyekyei and other chiefs of Kumawu in the Sekyere Afram Plains District of the Ashanti Region say they will resist any attempt to enstool Dr. Yaw Sarfo as the chief of Kumawu.

The Kumawu stool has been vacant close to seven years after the death of Barima Asumadu Sakyi ii due to a misunderstanding over whom to be the next chief. An attempt few months ago to enstool the chief under heavy security presence was met with strong opposition which led to the invocation of Otumfour’s Ntamkese by the Aduana Abusuapanin.

In a latest twist to the case, Nana Kwaku Gyekyei and Opanin Kwabena Kodua have filed for an interlocutory injunction to restrict Otumfour and others from installation.

Nana Akua Sewaah is a member of the Kumawu royal family, she tells ultimate Radio, the decision was arrived at after an open confession by the queen mother that she bribed the king makers to elect Dr Yaw Sarfo as the Chief.
